Nepal/Indonesia (Sumatra) - Week of April 5, 2026

Salam from Pulau Weh, Sumatra, I'm so grateful you've taken your time to learn about my past week's adventures. You'll discover I had a quieter week of activities as my plans changed once I arrived at Bukit Lawang, my first Indonesian destination on Sumatra. I'm slowly adopting an attitude that whatever I do is just fine as traveling is my life for now. I simply want to enjoy the blessing of seeing the sunrise one more time! 🙏 I sincerely hope the universe has shone its benevolence on your past week! Please reflect on those moments that you are most grateful for. It can be challenging to avoid taking the small gifts in your life for granted! Initial impressions of Sumatra: feels somewhat wild west like; everybody smokes everywhere and I've met the kindness, most helpful people ever. When I was searching for a bakery in Bukit Lawang, a woman who had limited English, stopped me to inquire what I was looking for. She subsequently stopped another two people to help...

Namaste friends! 🙏 Welcome back! I'm grateful for your time and attention to visit my latest weekly blog! I hope the universe's benevolence has filled your past week with joy, happiness and warm weather!  How have you incorporated the valuable advice of  Bistārai, Bistārai (slowly, slowly) into your daily routine? My month in Nepal has been fun, challenging, gratifying and disruptive - all occurring concurrently!  I achieved my two key objectives (and so much more) in my Nepal adventure. I visited the village where my water project donation had been used. I forgot to mention how my ego took a small bruising during the water project visit. I was advised my name would appear on the water tank plaque to acknowledge my contribution. My name was missing from the plaque as I read out the inscription. How petty a personal issue given the good my donation had achieved for the villagers. Excellent reminder that my motivation for providing financial support is for the broader...
