USA (Wisconsin) - Week of October 12, 2025

Welcome friends! Great to 'see' you join in the past week's adventure! How was your week? What magical moments happened during the week that you are grateful for?

Being in Wisconsin has become a greater blessing than I originally imagined.  It's been an important opportunity to pay closer attention to my body and personal fitness. My priority is developing a sustainable fitness regime that is in sync with my lifestyle. I know being healthy means I'll enjoy my travel more.

Spending more time in a much smaller city has been reinvigorating. I can be enjoying the outdoors in a matter of minutes. People in a smaller communities also have a different vibe; more open and friendly which I enjoy immensely.

Reconnecting with friends has been a true gift. I'm grateful to be the beneficiary of incredible warmth and caring!

May the universe bring endless blessings (blessings in disguise) and moments of magic 🦄  to you and your loved ones in the week ahead. 🙏

Travel Maps

Welcome to Eau Claire County and a little beyond, but not much beyond for the past week.

United States of America: October 12 to October 18, 2025

Valley Golf & Events

The Valley Golf & Events golf course is located just outside Mondovi, about a twenty minute drive from Eau Claire. A few photos from the tee box on the 7th hole. Beautiful range of fall colours.

The Dells Mill and Museum

I revisited the Mill on Friday to chat with my friends John and Craig. I was also interested in the progression of fall colours. I was delighted in what I witnessed as evidenced in the photos below. I took the opportunity to capture the waterwheel in action. I purchased a five pound bag of Einkorn flour for Erin who, with her husband Brad, own the golf course. She's been keen to use the flour, however, she has been unsuccessful in getting a bag. I'm about to solve that problem for her!

No Kings Day

Democracy is still evident in the USA. There were long lines of protesters in downtown Eau Claire expressing their dissatisfaction with the Trump administration on Saturday, October 18. The photos below are the last few protesters who assembled on a street corner near the Masonic Temple where I was attending the Eau Claire Valley Scottish Rite Fall Reunion - Part 2.

Next Week

I have a big travel plans for the upcoming week. I'm planning to drive the Great River Road with scheduled stops at the Lock & Dam sites to watch barges navigate the Mississippi. There are creamery visits, climbing Brady's Bluff in Perrot State Park, meditating at Kinstone, taking a tour at Taliesin (Frank Lloyd Wright's place just outside Spring Green), experiencing the House on the Rock, hiking a short section of the Ice Age Trail, and my first Friday Fish Fry at Sullivan's Supper Club. I'm also sneaking in a round of golf!!!

I'm also meeting with Angel and her family for dinner on Sunday evening! Angel is a most kind and generous person who used to invite me to join her on trail rides and supply everything that was required for a trail ride. All I had to do was show up!
